Light Seats (People Interactive)
Light Seats is a proposal to create glowing organic flattened pebble like seat forms. A variety of sizes and shapes of computer modelled forms. The initial idea is that they are made from white concrete but made to look like they a re soft cushions.
Under the overhang of each seat set into the ground are a series of colour changing LED lights. The light will illuminate the seat and also reflect back illuminating the area around each seat with soft coloured light. When someone sits on the seat the lights change colour creating an animated coloured environment.
Another possibility is making the pebbles from translucent re-enforced resin with LED lights inside so the whole form glows with colour.
